Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub

Some gifts are about food. About filling a tummy with gooey goodness.
Other gifts are about pampering someone you care about in a non-foodie way.
Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub is one a great way to pamper the crafter, gardener, baker, person who likes pampering in your life.

Making your own sugar scrub is so easy.

Seriously, you’ll smack yourself for ever buying it once you know how simple it is to make.

The recipe I adapted and use came from By Stephanie Lynn.com
  • 2 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 4 TBSP of Lemon Juice (fresh or from concentrate)
  • 2 TBSP of Lemon Peel (fresh grated or granulated)

It's edible, but it's for your hands.

  • Mix it together until smooth
  • Jar it up in lovely canning jars
  • Gift it to the people you love

  18. Very cool!

  19. How long do you think the scrub will keep in the jar?

    • Rach,

With oil, sugar and lemon being the ingredients I would guess the shelf-life to be at least 6 months. I usually make pretty small jars, so mine never lasts that long.

  20. This scrub sounds wonderful! I may have to try this out.

  21. I never realised how simple and wonderful this was to make – can’t wait to try it 😀

This sounds lovely and perfect for the kitchen sink : ) I do a similar thing with salt, almond oil and a drop or two of essential oils as a shower scrub. I’m with you – can’t believe how much you pay for these scrubs in the store!

    • Your shower scrub sounds great!

It’s crazy how expensive these scrubs are.
