I made lasagna in the slow cooker. Seriously.

I made lasagna in my slow cooker  today. It’s Mother’s day. We are home bound, due to my daughter’s toe, so I wanted to make an easy dinner. What better way to make my dinner easy then to use my slow cooker?

Ready to eat, I forgot to take a picture before I cut it.

I used pretty much the same recipe I use when I make lasagna in my oven.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef, browned.
1 container of ricotta cheese
1 package of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
2 eggs
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
Uncooked lasagna noodles*I usually use the quick cook Barilla no-boil lasagna noodles, but for this recipe I used regular lasagna noodles*
1 cup of mozzarella cheese for topping.

Mix ricotta, eggs and cheese.

Layer sauce, noodles (break them to fit into the slow cooker if necessary)
cheese mix, meat and sauce. Repeat
once or twice, until slow cooker is almost full. Cover with sauce and the cheese set aside for topping.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
Then enjoy!

Happy Mother’s day to all the Moms.

  1. I had lasagna tonight! Not in the slow cooker though.:) Still funny how similar the ingredients are.

    • You might be surprised how similar regular recipes and slow cooker recipes can be.
