Garden Gab: Week 14

How is your garden growing this week?

My sweet across the alley neighbor watered my garden for me while my family was on vacation. Thanks Becky!

We arrived home to find lovely okra growing, more roving strawberry vines and happy little green peppers. I planted more beans once we got home from vacation. They are already popping their lovely little heads out of the dirt. Beans are so awesome, they sprout so quickly.

Remember the Garden Gab week 13 post, I posted a picture of my husband digging a hole? The holes were for a sun shade for our pool. I included pictures of the finished sun shade. Yep, I’ve got a handy husband. Thanks Honey!!! πŸ™‚

I’ve still got a few bugs munching things, but the heat seems to be keeping them at a minimum (yay!)

Here’s my garden pictures…

  1. This is looking great! Those peppers will be awesome. To have a neighbor water is no small thing either. It’s raining today for the first time in about a month.

    • That’s true Greg. It was really awesome of her to water for me. I’m lucky to have a really sweet neighbor.

  2. Your garden is looking great! And I love okra–without a doubt, the weirdest garden plant. I love how they get about 8ft tall by the end of the summer–can’t believe you have so many ready already!

    • Thanks! I think it’s partly due to the raised garden. πŸ™‚

  3. Yay for Becky and all lovely neighbours and yay for lovely hubby! The pool looks very inviting…IΒ΄m just packing up my beach towel!

    • πŸ™‚ it’s perfect with our nifty sun shade. I’m very glad that I have such a handy husband. πŸ™‚ bring sunscreen too, it’s hot and sunny here.

Looks great! I’ve got some growing. I don’t have a green thumb at all. In fact, my older daughter told me I should give up cuz I just kill the plants! LOL. But I got those grow boxes, and I’ve got plants growing!! I haven’t had any luck with strawberries though….What’s the secret??

    • Thanks Janice! I’m no strawberry expert. My plants are growing, but they are not producing many strawberries. I fertilize every few weeks…maybe that is why I have wandering plants. They’re trying to take over the raised garden….it’s sorta funny.
