Look what’s new in my kitchen!

First things first!

Living Social has a great deal going  Tuesday only (probably US only) for Whole Foods Market.  Buy a $20 gift certificate for only $10.  Limit 1. Today 9/13 only.    This deal is sold out!

Now for my new kitchen items!

My super sweet husband bought me a pressure cooker!  I’m not sure how to use it yet….

And an inside view…..

I’m planning to experiment and I’ll keep you posted on my progress!

I also got a neat set of new kitchen scissors.

I’ve used my iPhone to take these pictures. iPhone Photo Phun

  1. I have never used a pressure cooker before! Good luck using yours 🙂

    • Me either Tandy! 😀 I’ll have fun figuring it out though.

  2. Can’t wait to see what you come up with using your pressure cooker! And I have definitely already purchased that coupon 😀

Nothing new in my kitchen, but I got to use cast iron pans AND a waffle maker while house sitting, and now I definitely want both. Don’t dare get cast iron until I no longer have roommates, though 😦

    • I figured you would LOVE that coupon. 🙂 I bought one too!

  3. I told Katherine I might need one of these the other day. I got an eye roll!

    • Heh! I figured I would get an eye roll, but instead he bought it for me as a gift. Best. Husband. Ever. 😀

  4. I heart kitchen shears. I don’t know how I ever lived without them.

    • Sam’s Wholesale Club. Kitchen Aid brand, less than $20. 🙂

  5. Have fun with your pressure cooker! I have one, and used to use it . . . but then a few years went by and I kind of forgot how to operate it. Hence, I’d be afraid of some kind of kitchen explosion of monumental proportions, heh heh. I’m sure you’ll be fine though. =)

    • Thanks for the comment Jenna! I will be following all the directions..Trust me. 😀

  6. That’s so exciting!! I’ve actually never used a pressure cooker either. I can’t wait to see what you cook with it. 🙂

    • Thank you Miss Caroline! I’m excited too, the recipe book that came with it claims to cook dried beans in 30 min, and 3 chickens in under 20. I’m not sure I need to cook 3 chickens at once, but it’s nice knowing I could.

  7. I luckily purchased that Whole Foods deal! Yay!

  8. I wish there was something new in my kitchen! I am hoping for a cast iron pot soon though. Crossing my fingers 🙂

    • Oh me too! I love cast iron. I wish you luck! I’m crossing my fingers for you!

  9. Wow, make sure to give us some pressure cooker tips. Those things intimidate me but I know how useful they can be

  10. Ooh – how exciting. I have never used one but my mum used to use hers all the time (especially for soups with pulses). Have fun experimenting!

  11. I have never used one. I am still trying to master the crock pot.

    • I LOVE my slow cookers! If I can help you figure out your crock pot, let me know!

  12. Liz

I think more kitchen utensils should be happily colored. It would make a whole lot more people *want* to cook!

  13. B

I always cook under pressure… Ha ha haaa!

But seriously, a friend of mine has one and made the most amazing poached chicken in ginger and lemongrass – it was divine.

Have fun learning how to use it!

    • Ha! Good one! I’m excited to figure it all out. It will be wonderful for processing my canning jars.

  14. I totally have pressure cooker envy. My mom used to make awesome swiss steak in hers. I guess it cut down the cooking time? Made our home-grown beef more tender? I’m not really sure why she used the pressure cooker for it, now I’ve got to ask!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and the sweet comment!

    • Annie,
I believe that the pressure is suppose to speed the cooking. 🙂

  15. Like many of the other comments, I remember my mother using one. It will be interesting to see how cooking with yours turns out. Good luck..No explosions.

    • Thank you Jamie! I am doing my best to bring back the kitchen arts of our mother’s….but with a more modern spin. 😀 Thanks for the comment!

  16. I put my pressure cooker through some serious paces the week before last. I just love it for stock and canning. Congratulations!

    • Thanks Joshua! I’m really excited about it.
