Meatless Monday-Mac and cheese

I’m making Mac and cheese for dinner this week for Meatless Monday.  I figured that the kiddos would enjoy it. 🙂

I received a coupon from Kraft First Taste for a free  Philadelphia cooking creme. I decided to try it out in the Mac and cheese.  I used Velveeta, 1/4 cup of 2% milk, and the Philadelphia cooking creme.  Warm over a medium heat until the cheese melts.

Pour the cheese sauce over the (cooked and drained) noodles and bake for 20 min at 350 deg.  I sprinkled bread crumbs over the mac and cheese before I baked it.

Cook the pasta and place it in a well-greased baking pan.

A nice salad to go with the pasta

Baked, cooled and ready to eat!

The mac and cheese was really good.  It was creamy, filling and made the whole family happy.  I will use the Philadelphia cooking creme again.  I’m pleased with the results.

  1. That looks really creamy. I like a bit of bread crumbs on top too. My wife likes a lot of breadcrumbs. Great looking salad too.

    • I like a little bit of bread crumbs too. My daughter would have preferred more bread crumbs I think.

It was very creamy. That was the first time I have tried using the cooking creme, and I liked it. It might be good in Alfredo sauce too, hmmm I’m getting great ideas to try just thinking about it.
