What I’m reading this week in blog land

I’ve had extra time to blog surf this week. Being sick and wired from the steroids the Doctor put me on kept me up later than normal. I’m feeling a bit better now, and I’m hopeful that in a few more days I’ll be five by five.

Post by post, Rufus’ Food and Spirits Guide never ceases to amaze and inspire me. Lamb-check, Raspberry Cheesecake Martini-check. I am enjoying this blog so much!

As you might have been able to guess from my Tuna burger post, I’m trying to expand my family’s taste borders. I’m planning to try one “out of our comfort zone” recipe per week.

Next week I plan to make Matzo Ball Soup. I’ve never tried to make it before, but it sounds like a fun recipe, any recipe that lets me roll food into balls has got to be fun! This delightful blog, Foodie for Two has an easy to follow recipe.

Lemons, lemons, I love lemons. Zahavah at Kosher Camembert, shares my love of lemons. This looks like a delish lemon bar recipe.

I’m never disappointed when I pop on over to Clockwork Lemon. In her post “Canning and Crochet” she shows off the canning book she got for her birthday and an afghan she is crocheting.

Meagan at Frugal Fun and Fortunate is a doll! Her blog is full of great savings tips, vegetarian recipes, meal planning (Meh! Says the lady who should meal plan and does not) and she also manages to donate food items on a tight, tight grocery budget. Click here to read about her grocery store oops this week in her Share your savings post….I’ve been there, busted my grocery budget, it happens.

If you like Vampire books, or you like the idea of showing support for my friend who is a newly published author, then check this book out. The Order of the Blood.

What are you reading this week? I’d love to hear about it.

  1. Thanks for the shout out. You can tell I’ve been reading you a lot this week too. Five by Five always makes me think of Faith on Buffy, wouldn’t have guessed that I bet. (OK, maybe you would have.) Also, I second your comments on that lemon bar recipe. It looks amazing.

    • I was thinking Faith (via Buffy) when I said five by five. 🙂

  2. Hi JamieAnne. Thanks for the shout-out..always fun to get new readers.
