Fantastic and Simply Easy beer bread
This bread recipe is so easy and so good. If you’re familiar with Tastefully Simple beer bread, this is very similar.
Here’s the basic recipe. Feel free to add your own spice ideas to it. I do. The Bread is very dense. It’s not a light fluffy bread.
Ingredients:
3 cups of self rising flour. If you don’t have self rising flour see below.
1/2 cup of sugar
(1) 12 oz beer, root-beer, or other fizzy beverage.
1/4 cup of melted butter
What to do next:
Pour into well-greased loaf pan or muffin tins
Bake at 375 for
Loaf-about 55 min.
Muffins- depending on size about 25 min. (for regular size) to 40 min. (larger muffin)
The dough will be sticky. I spray my bowl scraper with non-stick cooking spray to keep it from sticking to the scraper.
To make all-purpose flour into self rising flour:
Here’s How:
- Using a dry measure, measure the desired amount of flour into a separate container.
- For each cup of all-purpose flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Mix to combine.
- This info came from About.com
I added Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to this one.
I added 1/4 cup of honey to the small loaf pan and these large-sized muffins. It would be great with breakfast, but be aware that it is a dense bread.
